Resonance Security, the full-spectrum cybersecurity firm providing security tools to organisations across both Web2 and Web3, has completed a $1.5 million pre-seed round backed by leading digital asset management company Arca, Web3 venture firm Fabric VC and Blockchain Founders Fund.

Resonance plans to use the new capital to expand its technology suite that combines automated threat analysis with comprehensive audits to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in any information technology stack.

The platform assesses each project individually, assigning it a “Security Score”, which is based on the weaknesses it needs to address, helping it stay ahead of potential threats in real time.

Commenting on the announcement, Resonance Founder & CEO, Charles Dray described his company’s approach to addressing cyber threats as a blend of software and services into a unified 360-degree cybersecurity experience.

“We’ve taken decades of career journeys and hundreds of customer experiences to create the ultimate cybersecurity experience. Our goals for the future include building upon our work to deliver an even more robust institutional platform covering any emerging threats, and also delivering a customized offering specifically for consumers,” Dray said in a press statement.

Michal Benedykcinski, SVP Ventures, Arca which co-led the round commented: “Resonance’s end-to-end approach aims to close out the gap by automating their clients’ cybersecurity needs and accurately matching them with the best solutions in the market. We see Resonance’s role as mission-critical in amplifying the cybersecurity resilience of web3 projects by enabling better accessibility.”

On the other hand, Anil Hansjee, General Partner, Fabric VC said his company believes “Resonance’s software is well placed to become an integral tool in an increasingly regulated space, and a benchmark to give users greater peace of mind.”

Mansoor Madhavji, Partner, Blockchain Founders Fund hailed the cybersecurity firm’s “holistic approach” to cybersecurity for Web3 as “exactly what’s needed to build trust and broaden adoption.”

Resonance’s patent-pending guidance and notification technology help guide users through the steps they must take to eliminate hacker loopholes, thus helping projects demonstrate to their stakeholders how important they take cybersecurity by using an aggressive approach to avert security threats.

Ahead of its V1 launch in March, Resonance says its beta version attracted hundreds of engagements with major Web2 and Web3 projects and boasts a rare 100% client retention rate.

As a result of its rapid expansion over the past year, the company’s employee headcount has grown from four to 14.
